New breedings

Update: We've just gotten back from spending the weekend down in Wetaskiwin for the EARS rabbit show! We ended up coming home with a few new grand champions, five registered bunnies, a Best of the best opposites win, one Best of breed win and four Best opposite sex wins! We haven't answered any e-mails while we were down there so if you haven't heard back from us this weekend - that's why! We'll try to get through all the e-mails tomorrow :)

We've bred a few bunnies to kindle end of Jan and mid Feb so should have some little ones after the gals got a well deserved break!

GC Reg. Campo's Fire N' Ice x SLR's Torlee - Due Feb 16/16 - Didn't catch will rebreed

SLR's DJ x SLR's Jersey - Due Feb 16/16 - Kindled Feb 16/16, 5 total with one peanut, looks like one broken orange and a charlie orange - two were born the day after DOA. We lost one of these little ones today so we are down to one broken orange.

Reg. SLR's Tort - 1 leg x Cutie Pattootie T'fer Tigger Due Feb 16/16 - Kindled Feb 17/16 had four total with two orange peanuts, one lynx? and one blk/orange harli - both of which were fostered to Jersey. We lost one of these little guys on the 22nd so are down to one harli. Will rebreed this gal and try again

We have a barn that is full of bred bunnies and although I know all of the does won't catch and all of the babies won't be born alive we are very excited about the crossings for our next show bunnies!

FOR SALE - SLR's DJ & SLR's Olivia

We have a couple adult bunnies that are looking for new homes and are heading down to Calgary on Monday December 21st so can bring them along the way then. We'll be in Calgary for a week then will be heading back up north on Monday Dec 28th.

* SOLD * SLR's DJ is a broken orange SR buck - he is a total sweetheart but also an active guy. DOB is July 10 2013 and he's out of SLR's Aiden and HA's Promise. This guy does spray when there's other bucks around however if he can't see them then he doesn't spray. He is looking for a brood or pet home although he has been shown as he has no disqualifications. He is a proven brood buck throwing colors like orange, blk/orange tris and harlis. We are parting with this dude as he is getting too related to use on any of our does. This guy weighed in at 3 pounds 5 ounces at his last deworming.

* BRED, NOT FOR SALE UNTIL AFTER LITTER IS WEANED * SLR's Olivia a black SR doe who is looking for a retirement home. DOB is March 14 2014 and she's out of SLR's Thumper and SLR's Dream. She is a very sweet doe with both adults and children but she does not like other bunnies and can be aggressive if let out with them(she loves her space!). She does have a small scar on her one eye from a previous injury while she was out in a run however it's completely healed and she can see just fine out of it. Weighed in at 3 pounds 12 ounces at her last deworming.

*SOLD* SLR's Un-named black/orange tri color junior buck, DOB September 4 2015 and he's out of SLR's Cosmo and SLR's Jersey. He's a very sweet boy who's currently on the quieter side. I think he'll mature to around the 4 pound mark when he's all grown up. He's looking for a pet home.

Play Time

Our bunnies do live in their own individual cages however they do come out to get some play time in the big runs! Here's a few photos of the gals having fun outside the entrance of the bunny house before it snowed. This is a fully enclosed 12 x 24 foot run for them but now we stick to the indoor run until it's warm again!

These little cuties are the last babies that will be available for the 2015 year. We'll post some adults that will be looking for new homes as we crunch down our numbers a bit for the winter.

This litter is out of SLR's Cosmo a black & orange harlequin buck and SLR's Jersey a broken orange doe. They were born on September 4 2015 so that makes them just over 9 weeks old now and ready to go to their forever homes. They have been tattooed but will be dewormed and have nail trims before they go to their new home.

UPDATE: All the available little one's below have found new homes - thanks to everyone who gave somebunny a loving home! We have our last litter of 2015 ready to be weaned, tattooed and dewormed then will post the available ones for sale. They are out of SLR's Cosmo a blk/org harli buck and SLR's Jersey a broken orange doe. There is a blk/orange tri buck and two blk/orange harli does.

It's almost time to wean our little guys here so some of them will be looking for new homes as you just can't keep them all! Here's some photos of the available ones and one little chestnut buck that I'm not quite decided on yet! Meet KP's Treasure

We are so excited to welcome this little doe into our tort program! She was purchased from Karleigh Friesen(by my lovely husband as my Birthday gift!) and the original breeder was Kathy Pelton so a big thanks to both those ladies for this lovely doe!

Treasure is a year and a half old and will be a great asset to our program with her type. She is a double BIS winner, RIS winner and has four BOB wins in her one time out of showing. We just need to get her registered then can send in for her grand champion papers. We can't say thanks enough for this gorgeous little gal!

Our current litters are doing well and growing cuter everyday! Their eyes just opened and they have been venturing out of the nest boxes for the first time.

Our does have finally kindled and here are the results! Please note that we are sold out and will be until these guys are available early-mid October.


SLR's AnnaPrimRose was bred to SLR's Aiden and had 4 kits - 2 black orange harlequins, 1 buck and 1 doe & two tort does(1 is a peanut). She is also a foster mom to one from Macey.

SLR's Olivia was bred to Campo's Fire N' Ice and had 6 kits - 1 black orange tri buck, 1 black orange harli doe, 1 orange doe, 1 chestnut buck and 2 broken chestnut does one of which was DOA.

SLR's Saffir was bred to SLR's Aiden and had 2 kits - both black orange tris and both were DOA

SLR's Macey was bred to SLR's Aiden and had 3 kits - 1 tort doe that is fostered to Anna and 2 DOA blacks

Cutie Patootie T'fer Tigger was bred to SLR's DJ and had 4 kits - 1 black orange harli, 1 broken orange and 2 oranges all of which are peanuts.

Whoever said breeding rabbits is easy hasn't had breedings like these! As Hollands are a dwarf breed they have one normal gene and one dwarf gene which makes them little. When you breed two of these kind of Hollands together you end up with 25% normal(big Hollands) 50% dwarf Hollands and 25% peanuts(they got a dwarf gene from each parent which is a fatal combination). In all my years of raising rabbits I have never had a litter that was ALL peanuts like Tiggers is! The good news is that we have 9 fat happy healthy babies to grow up!
